Three more COVID-19 patients discharged in Assam

27 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Assam hospitals:

Guwahati, April 26: Assam has discharged 27 COVID-19 patients from different hospitals of the state so far.

On Sunday, eight patients were discharged from Golaghat Civil Hospital and Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital in Guwahati.

Assam has now 7 active positive cases for COVID-19 and all seven patients treatment is going on in hospitals.

Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that, the eight patients were discharged from two hospitals after their successive testes confirmed as negative.

“Assam has a positive case for COVID-19 load of 35 and one patient died during the period of hospitalization. We have already discharged 19 patients and today eight more patients have been discharged from hospital,”

The Assam minister also said that, the recovery and discharge rate in Assam is now 77 percent and the state has now left only seven positive cases for COVID-19.

On April 20, two COVID-19 patients were discharged from Sonapur Civil Hospital and Lakhimpur Civil Hospital.

Assam has so far tested 7616 swab samples and 209 test results are awaited.

The Assam Health minister also claimed that, the primary transmission has stopped in Assam and there is no report of community transmission in the state so far.

“We are finding positive cases from the facility quarantine centers as a result of secondary transmission,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

He also said that, the state has now 2.70 lakh PPE kits, 52,000 N95 masks, and 46 lakh triple layer masks.
